photography
Through delicate, close-up and often minimal photography, I capture the magic of the natural world — from dreamy butterflies and fungi to flowers unfolding in soft light. Based in Sussex and inspired by the South Downs, I am endlessly drawn to the small details that hold big stories.
My photography isn’t grand, it isn’t travel to far-flung countries or mountain peaks or volcanos, in fact, the scale is quite the opposite. But in some ways it’s the grandest project of all, because it’s about being present and connecting with life. I try to tell the story of noticing the natural world right on your doorstep, of becoming absorbed in tiniest moments of wonder that pass most people by each day, the story of being present with the incredible marvels that we share this earth with, if only we can stop for a moment and notice them. As a therapist, I know the amazing impact that fostering being present in nature has on mental health. I want to search for and share the beauty that I find, inspiring in my audience a wonder and deep appreciation for that natural world, as well as awakening an aliveness to the possibility of slowing down, of presence, of noticing, and all the benefits that that brings.
I’ve been thinking about just how much my photography is borne of love. I feel such love for the tiny moments of growth, of spark and life that I come across and try to capture. And I hope that my images communicate and inspire more love.
I practice ethical photography, capturing only what is wild and as I find it, with respect and care for the environment and the subjects I photograph.
