therapy

I am a BACP accredited psychodynamic therapist. I’ve been qualified for more than 15 years and over that time have worked in many different settings including schools, universities and private practice in both short- and long-term therapy. I am especially interested in working with anxiety and have a lot of experience of working with developmental trauma. In addition to this I have lived experience of neurodivergence.

What can you expect from therapy with me?

You will experience someone who is warm and non-judgemental, and who is committed to really listening to you and trying to understand what it’s like to be you in the world. It is really important to me that the people I work with feel that in me they have someone on their team! I will be curious about your early experiences growing up, how they have shaped you, and how they continue to influence you in the present. Together we will try to make sense of what is going on for you now. The time and space will be yours for you to bring and explore whatever you want and need to.

My core values are:

  • Connection

  • Acceptance

  • Empathy

  • Curiosity

  • Meaning-making

What you can expect from me

I am committed to:

  • You feeling safe in our sessions, and working together to make sure this is the case

  • Communicating clearly and openly about the process and the work

  • You feeling genuinely heard and seen — without judgement

  • Helping you to be present: to pause, to notice and to feel

  • Getting alongside you to explore where you are now, what brought you here, the stories you have come to tell about yourself, and where they come from

  • Creating a space where we can stay curious together, even when it's uncomfortable

  • Generating open and honest conversations, which might sometimes mean exploring the assumptions and perceptions you hold about yourself, and building enough trust that difficult conversations feel possible and worthwhile

  • Supporting you in connecting to and being your most authentic self

What I ask of you

The most meaningful work can happen with clients who are fully engaged with and committed to the process.

For you this means:

  • Attending sessions as agreed and treating them as a priority

  • Ensuring fees are paid in advance for the sessions you've committed to, whether attended or not

  • Using email for communicating logistical matters only — holding concerns and personal reflections for our sessions

More detail on these points can be found in the Therapeutic Contract, along with information on fees, cancellation policy and confidentiality.

The process

Get in touch via my contact form.

We make sure that we have compatible availability and then book in an initial consultation (50 minutes, £60). This allows us to explore whether we are a good fit before committing to working together.

Complete my intake form (this will be sent to you before our initial consultation - please return it to me at least 24 hours before we meet).

If we both agree it’s a good fit following our initial meeting, move to weekly sessions held at the same time and on the same day each week.

Each session is 50 minutes long and my fee is £60.
